If you have ever needed assistance with online banking, ACH and wire transfers, you have most likely talked with Sharon Ambs. Sharon is the cheery, helpful voice on the other end of your telephone calls. She has worked in Chelsea State Bank’s Data Processing Department for the last 23 years. She has seen many changes in banking and was quick to learn all the features and benefits of online banking when it was first introduced at Chelsea State Bank. Sharon was responsible for many training sessions Bank staff had when learning how to use online banking.
In addition, because Sharon’s husband owns his own business, Sharon was able to get his business set up on Chelsea State Bank’s online banking immediately. This helped Sharon in her training of personal online banking as well as business online banking. Customers and fellow employees always appreciate Sharon’s expertise.
It’s her caring coworkers that Sharon appreciates the most about her work. The banking industry is also interesting to Sharon, especially Data Processing as she can see how the Bank actually operates and how the industry changes over the years.
When not in the Bank, Sharon’s favorite pastime is relaxing with her friends and family. Sharon and her husband Herb will celebrate their 43rd wedding anniversary this October. They have two daughters, Angie and Kim. Kim is an RN and lives in Denver with 9-year-old grandson Noah. Angie lives in Kalamazoo and is an insurance agent. Traveling with “her girls” is another one of Sharon’s favorite activities.

What are your hobbies?
I enjoy quilting and sewing and going to craft shows.
What is your favorite food?
I am not picky when it comes to food, but I love Jet’s Deep Dish Pizza and dark chocolate.
If you were stuck on an island, what would you bring?
A fly swatter, my favorite quilt and pillow, and lots of water.
What is your favorite holiday, and why?
Halloween is my favorite holiday because there are so many different things you can do for this holiday.
What is on your favorite playlist?
Classic Rock.
What area do you live in and for how long?
I have lived in Clarklake near Brooklyn for over 30 years.
