Betty Campbell

If you are a customer of Chelsea State Bank, own a business in Downtown Chelsea, or have participated in community events over the years – You know Betty Campbell!

Betty Campbell

Betty has been with Chelsea State Bank since 1985. She has progressed through the ranks as a teller, vault teller, head teller and customer service representative. She was promoted to her current position as bank officer and branch manager of the Chelsea Downtown Office in 2011.

“Working at one place for so many years, I have made a number of friends both customers and fellow employees,” explains Betty. “I enjoy meeting new people and helping them develop a relationship with Chelsea State Bank.”

With 35 years of serving the Chelsea community, Betty has seen tremendous changes in the Bank and the community. At the Bank, Betty has seen the introduction of telephone banking, then Internet banking and now mobile banking, including mobile deposit.

“Working at Chelsea State Bank, we develop new products as technology grows; yet we keep that small-town feel,” said Betty. “Our customers can come into our branches to open accounts, apply for loans and deposit checks. They can also do this from the luxury of their homes and offices whenever, wherever using their computers and smart phones. I like the automation, but I also like seeing our long-time customers and helping them grow with Chelsea State Bank. Some of them have been here as long as I have!”

In the community, Betty has seen many changes with new businesses coming into town like the Purple Rose Theatre Company and The Common Grill. She has also seen historical sites updated and new people like Mike Jackson coming in as the new owner of the Vogel’s & Foster’s, one of the oldest department stores in the country.

Betty has also experienced major changes in her own life. “I am a two-time cancer survivor and my coworkers have always helped me through difficult times,” Betty says. “This is such a great group of people to work with. They have been a great support group for me.”

As you can imagine, family and friends are everything to Betty. “I have a son and daughter who are both married and live close to me. I have six grandchildren and I like spending time with them. I try to go to all the events their involved in. I also do special lunch dates so I can spend time one-on-one with them.”

We like to think of Betty as a very special mother, grandmother, friend and branch manager!
