Meet Carie Tillman, newly appointed Branch Manager for the CSB Dexter Banking Center. When a kind person, with customer service expertise, marketing skills, and a passion to find financial solutions for her customers, joins the local community bank – it’s a win-win for the customers of Chelsea State Bank and the Bank!
As the new Branch Manager, Carie is looking forward to helping the Dexter community with their personal and business loan and deposit needs. Carie eagerly proclaims, “I really love working with our customers and trying to find the best ways to help them achieve financial success.”
Carie went on to explain, “I started at the Chelsea State Bank as a part-time Customer Service Representative in August 2020. I really loved that job because I was able to meet and service so many of our customers. I also learned so many new things! I love to find solutions to customer problems and to help them make sure their accounts are what is best for them. I am excited about my new role as Branch Manager in Dexter because I will get to meet the Dexter customers and look forward to learning about their needs. I’m also looking forward to learning and working on the lending side at CSB.”
Carie joined Chelsea State Bank with eight years of marketing experience. “Prior to joining the Bank, I was in Marketing with an Ann Arbor based physical therapy company. In that role, I was primarily tasked with trying to get surgeons to refer business to our office vs. the competition. In many ways, that is what I do here at CSB. It’s all about building great relationships and educating customers as to why they should choose CSB over other banks.”
Typically, kind people attract other kind people and Carie is no exception. She is first to boast about her appreciation for her CSB cohorts and customers. “The people I work with and the customers we serve is what I love about working at Chelsea State Bank. I also appreciate that the Bank tries to promote from within, where appropriate. I absolutely love working with the Plaza team and will miss them all! They are all a hoot and know how to make work fun! Looking forward to building great relationships with my new co-workers.”
As the local, independently owned community bank for over 120 years, Chelsea State Bank has gained the reputation for being a great place to work because of the people, benefits, and community advocacy. This is something that Carie was aware of and was hoping to join the CSB team someday.
“I was looking for a change because I had been at my job for about eight years. I had been looking on the CSB website regularly for part-time job postings and nothing was ever available. When I saw the part-time posting, which was primarily to cover the full-time workers’ lunches, I felt like it was a perfect opportunity to join the Bank and see if this was the company where I could continue to grow as an employee and land long term. CSB is truly a community bank. Everyone that works at the bank is involved in the community and most live in the immediate area. We are here to serve our community and our customers and have fun doing it!”
Outside the Bank, Carie focuses on her number one passion – her family. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Adam and children, Sarah and Brian, and their family dog, Daisy. “I enjoy doing anything and everything with my family. I’m thankful that my kids still like to hang out with us! We spend a lot of time as a family playing games, watching movies, and hanging out. I also enjoy cooking and watching my children playing their various sports.”
